More than 30 years of technology, product and data leadership
Founded in July 2022, Dasher Consulting brings senior technology experience to strategy and delivery. David works directly with clients on digital products, data engineering, data science, platform architecture and practical AI.
David was initially contracted to build technology for CPL Training, then co-founded CPL Online and built the product capability, technology platform and technical organisation behind the business. The combined CPL businesses employed approximately 150 people at their peak, while the platform reached more than one million registered users and 3.5 million course completions.
His roles progressed through Managing Director, Chief Data Officer and Chief Technology Officer. From 2018 to June 2022, David was Chief Technology Officer of CPL Learning.

David selected and introduced HPCC Systems at CPL Online and led its use for high-volume reporting, analytics and data applications. He served on the HPCC Systems Community Advisory Board and regularly presented at HPCC community events.

David defines the product, user experience, architecture, platforms, infrastructure, security and governance boundaries. He directs AI-assisted implementation, reviews and tests the resulting systems, diagnoses problems and controls release decisions.

David uses AI-assisted development as part of delivery and remains responsible for product direction, architecture, review, testing and release decisions. His earlier hands-on engineering work spans databases, SQL, web services, HPCC Systems and ECL.

David is open to a substantial permanent senior technology role from January 2027, or earlier for the right opportunity, while remaining open to exceptional consulting and fractional work.

Agree account ownership, deployment access, documentation and a named handover recipient before work starts. Ongoing support and any specialist cover are scoped separately.
